FAQs
What is group coaching?
Group coaching is when you get to work with a coach (in this case the amazing Yoshika Green) along with peers that are all working towards the same goal. This format changes the coaching game and makes everyone feel connected through community, while getting to work to meet the goal. There’s tons of accountability from Yoshika and the community of writers as you apply these skills right away.
Why is this a coaching program and not a course?
Anyone can teach you something new, but not everyone is going to stick it out with you to make sure that you’re doing what you’ve learned. If you prefer to purchase a course to LEARN, I’ve got that for you but it’s not the same as DOING. This group coaching program is where you’ll actually DO the writing work. You’ll learn plenty in this program, but the primary focus will be on the process of doing. Writing 123 is a verb full of action, not a noun, sorry not sorry for the lit geek grammar pun.
When does Writing 123 start?
It starts in March (on the 20th). The 1-2-3 in the program name stands for the span of 3 months: March, April and May, which is just enough time to get the work done in 8 weeks. When you’re in a concentrated incubator full of focus, passion and hustle, you’ll get the job done sooner than if you had all year to do it so the timeframe is intentional, AND who doesn’t want a new book that’s ready to be published.
How much is Writing 123 and are there any deals for me to take advantage of?
It’s $1,999. We know that walking away with a completed book is worth waaaaaay more than that (it’s truly priceless), but we wanted to create a program (valued at over $8k) that’s as affordable for you as possible. This price is for you, right now. Writing 123 will not remain at this price.
AN ADDITIONAL DEAL: We know that most of us work better when it’s someone we know sooooo, if you’ve got a friend or family member that will join you in this, you’ll get $50 as a referral gift. And yes, you’ll love reaching this milestone together. So go text your people now because spots are limited on purpose (the goal of group coaching is to create an intimate community).
Is split payment available?
Yes, a split payment plan is available.
Are there any other additional bonuses and perks coming our way?
Well of course, we promise to keep adding more and more to this program so stay tuned for additional surprises, and registrant-only perks.
When is the deadline to register?
We’re about to hit the ground running so don’t sleep on registering. Spots are limited for the sake of forging an intimate collaborative. You’ve got until February 25th to register.
When will we meet and where?
We’ll meet on Zoom and of course in the Facebook group you will be given access to.
What will I get lifetime access to?
All of the content. It’s yours forever, however you’ll want to download the zoom calls so that you can view them later.
Over the 8 weeks, how much time will I need to invest?
You should plan to invest at least 5-7 hours of writing and 2 hours of community interaction a week. That is an average of about 8 hours a week. If you need more or less hours, adjust accordingly being that we’re all different.
What if I’m unsure about what to write, can you help me with that first?
Yes! We’re here to help with that. Yoshika would love to get you sure about what you’re writing, BEFORE you begin so once you’re registered, just let her know that you’d like a complimentary fine tuning call with her.
What is the schedule, what will we be doing during the 8 weeks?
A detailed schedule will be shared with you upon registration but here’s a summative sneak peek...
Week 0-1: before we officially begin we’ll be outlining so that you have a clear plan as to what you’re going to write. This is the time where you’ll also do your preliminary book research that Yoshika will help you with.
Week 2-3: Writing the introduction and the beginning of your book is our focus during these weeks. We’ll work on making sure that you set the scene well with your words so that your readers have buy-in and are tracking with where you’re about to take them.
Week 4-5: Writing the middle and doing all the middle things means this is when we make sure that you’re connecting your points thus far and are turning the corner to drive your point or plot home.
Week 6-7: Writing the end of your book is where the fun is. This is where you will tie it all up nicely and close in a way that leaves your readers wanting more.
Week 8: You did it, you made it to this stage before you even opened a holiday gift. This phase is your biggest gift of the year. It’s time to rewrite the sections that need it. Add and subtract words as you rearrange your manuscript so that it’s ready for editing and publishing. EEEEEEKKKKKKKKK!!!!
Bonus Content: editing, what's next- printing and marketing - access to Yoshika’s contacts for publishing and marketing support
Each week on Sunday nights there will be a one-hour group call. This will be a time for co-writing where Yoshika will be helping you write live on the call. Although you’ll learn during the mini lesson portion of the call, this a time of "werking the writing."
Biweekly you and Yoshika will get on a 30-minute call where she’ll help move you along your process, and assist you if you're stuck or just need some expert advice.
Every week Yoshika will go live in the exclusive group with a full training that will require you to open up the workbook you’ll be given so that she can coach you through the intensive process as she or a guest expert presents the content that will be applicable to the program.
What’s next after this program?
You’ll be getting ready to go through the editing and publishing process. Yoshika will hook you up with all you need for this, publishing discounts too.
Do you offer other programs and services?
Well of course we do! You can find all of the info on this website. Get ready for Writeology, a course that is perfect to help you tell and sell your stories (this course is a bonus to you).
I want to write something other than a memoir, self-help book or a children’s story. I want to write a script or a resource guide for my business. Is this program for me?
Ooooooh yes it is! This program is for anyone who is wanting to get their writing into a book for their business or for all the world to experience. Writing 123 was created for those that know they have a message that is not in the right place right now, but wants it to be. We’re going to make sure that what you write is in the right place.
If I have other questions, where can I ask them?
